‘We Will Try Again,Again, Again to Make It Bigger’: Japan,American Football,and the Super Bowl in the Past,Present, and Future

Abstract

This study is to analyse how the Japanese have traditionally received and currently perceive the Super Bowl, and for this purpose, it aims to locate the position of American football in Japanese history, society, and culture. It explores the game’s history and then examine the degree of its spread among Japan’s sporting population. A two-dimensional approach of historical study and inter-game comparison gives context to the analyses of reference frequency and contents of news media, followed by speculative discussions of what the near future of Japan’s American football would be like. To conclude, it clarifies the ways the Super Bowl has been received and is now being perceived by two groups: The first group is the general people who see the Super Bowl as the convenient and useful medium by which they could learn effectively about American culture through the one-night mania for ‘conspicuous consumption’. The second group comprises American football experts and enthusiasts, including 13,000 athletes and their OBs, coaches, trainers, and other staff members of the leagues and associations as well as the general sports fans. For this group, the Super Bowl is the apex of their favourite sport to which only a selected talented few could join.  相似文献   

Korean-Wave celebrities between global capital and regional nationalisms

This article examines conflicts over the transnationalization of South Korean celebrities in the wake of the Korean Wave (Hallyu) in the twenty-first century. I consider a number of celebrity controversies to argue that the demands placed upon Hallyu celebrities by domestic observers, foreign audiences, and global capital are fundamentally irreconcilable. South Korean nationalist appropriation of Hallyu, as well as the local celebrity culture, demand that Hallyu stars firstly be exemplary Korean patriots, whereas international audiences expect sympathy for their own causes. Local nationalist agendas have proven particularly troublesome because of postcolonial sensibilities and ongoing territorial disagreements between South Korea and its neighbors. Finally, as circulating commodities and commercial assets, Hallyu stars are also pledged to global capital. Their value is highest when they appeal to as broad an audience as possible and alienate no one with their politics. An apolitical neutrality on regionally controversial issues, however, is an untenable position when antagonistic geopolitical interests are concerned and nationalist passions flare. I situate this argument within critical scholarship on cultural globalization flows within Asia, while engaging celebrity studies to frame Hallyu stars as transnational commodities.  相似文献

用经验模式分解和重标极差分析法进行摩擦振动信号分析

为提取和表征摩擦振动的特征信号，在摩擦磨损试验机上进行以船用柴油机缸套和活塞环为材质的摩擦副摩擦磨损试验.应用经验模式分解(Empirical Mode Decomposition, EMD)对非线性、非平稳的摩擦振动信号进行分解，获得若干个本征模式函数(Intrinsic Mode Function, IMF).从中选择反映摩擦振动特征的IMF重新合成摩擦振动特征信号，应用重标极差分析法对摩擦振动特征信号进行分析，得到线性回归谱和Hurst指数.结果表明，EMD能够实现摩擦振动特征信号的提取，重标极差分析法可以分析摩擦振动信号的渐变过程，提取摩擦振动信号的特征.该方法可为基于摩擦振动信号的机械摩擦副摩擦磨损行为的研究提供新的途径.  相似文献   

老铁山—长兴岛VLCC外海航路安全水深的确定

为确保长兴岛北港区30万吨级油船泊位正常营运，科学合理地规划老铁山水道至长兴岛北港区的外海航路，对国内外关于航道水深的标准、规范和影响船舶富余水深的要素进行对比分析.基于MATLAB 8.0平台，利用芳村公式、Eryuzlu（1994）修正公式和Norbin公式计算船舶在开敞水域航行时的下沉量、富余水深和安全水深，并画出满载VLCC在开敞水域航行时的下沉量、富余水深、安全水深在不同航速情况下随水深与吃水比值变化的曲线.根据《海港总体设计规范》、芳村公式、Eryuzlu(1994)修正公式和Norbin公式，计算出在开敞水域航行的满载VLCC在不同航速下所需的下沉量和外海航路安全水深.运用该方法提出老铁山水道至长兴岛北港区外海航路的安全水深建议值.该方法可为渤海湾其他有VLCC码头的外海航路设计提供一定的参考.  相似文献   

低强度循环载荷训练对髌骨髌腱结合部损伤和髌骨微细结构的影响

目的：：本研究利用循环载荷动物模型,比较休息和低强度运动对髌骨髌腱结合部( patella－patella tendon junction, PPTJ)损伤及对髌骨的影响。实验方法：12只成年雌性新西兰大白兔,随机筛选分组分为4周循环载荷组(LD－RST,n=6),8周循环载荷组(LD－LI,n=6),左后肢进行实验,右后肢为空白对照。实验过程中,前4周两组实验动物统一接受强度为7.17N／S共24小时的循环载荷。在实验的第4周后,LD－RST组停止实验,LD－LI组将强度改为4.2N／共24小时的循环载荷。8周后所有动物统一进行取材,将取材后组织进行Micro－CT进行并进行H&E染色,使用图像采集系统进行组织学分析。结果：H&E染色测量纤维软骨带厚度LD－LI组和LD－RST组没有显著差异,LD－LI组的胶原排列比LD－RST组更加紧密整齐。骨量和骨小梁结果显示实验组和对照组没有显著差异。结论：4周休息不能促进髌腱结合部损伤的恢复。4周低强度的循环载荷没有加重损伤和髌骨增生,并且对肌腱的重建修复具有促进作用。  相似文献   

当代高低杠成套动作编排发展态势的研究

摘要：里约奥运周期高低杠成套动作的编排与伦敦奥运周期相比发生了较大变化，要保持我国的高低杠优势，编出符合国际潮流和有竞争力的高低杠成套动作，就必须了解当代国际高低杠成套动作编排的发展态势。本文通过技术统计、录像观察、比较分析等研究方法，分别选取伦敦和里约两个奥运周期中（2010年—2014年）的4届世锦赛和1届奥运会体操比赛的40套高低杠决赛动作为观察统计对象，对两个奥运周期成套动作的上法、下法、换杠动作、杠中动作、连接加分以及成套动作的数量进行了全面、深入的对比分析，得出当代高低杠成套动作编排的发展态势是：上法以A组低难度为主；换杠动作加难、加长，连续飞行换杠将成为潮流；杠中动作数量有所减少，成套动作的编排趋向于高难动作直接相连，成套动作数量将趋于减少；下法将朝着“旋空翻”的方向发展。  相似文献   

Psychological complaints reported by sexually abused children during criminal investigations: Istanbul example

The present study aims at describing the psychological complaints reported, as a part of the criminal investigation process, by the victims of sexual abuse as a part of the criminal investigation process, without attempting at reaching a medical diagnosis; and it discusses the relation of these reports with variables such as victim's gender, age and relation to the offender, type and duration of abuse, and parental marital status of the victim. Data is obtained from the statements of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) victims under the age of 15, as taken by Istanbul Juvenile Justice Department between the years 2009 and 2012. The sample consists of 175 cases with a total of 202 victim statements. Through the use of content analysis, the main and sub-categories of themes of the statements were determined. By means of the evaluation of the psychological condition of victims, we evaluated them in two categories: psychological complaints including self-harm and risk taking behaviors and psychological complaints with no self-harm and risk taking behaviors. The statistical analyses yield significant relations between the psychological complaints and children's parental marital status. Analysis of initial statements of sexual abuse victims is important as it may greatly contribute to professionals diagnosing and treating psychological complaints of these victims. It is essential that victims of sexual abuse should receive immediate psychological support starting with the criminal investigation process.  相似文献

This article excavates some of the core intellectual elements underlying the Xinhai Revolution of 1911 and their historical genealogies. Rather than focusing on the modern nature of the revolution, Mizoguchi locates the revolution within the context of traditional Chinese culture and thought. A central focus of the article is the notion of “self-governance” (zizhi), which played a central role in determining the shape the revolution was to ultimately take. It analyzes the social thought of key figures of the Qing period, showing how in modified guise, core Confucian ethical concepts such as the dichotomy between the private (si) and public (gong) as well as utopian concepts such as datong (great harmony) determined the deep structure of revolutionary thought at the end of the Qing and into the Republican and Communist periods.  相似文献   

我国农村体育精准扶贫改革路径分析

为了丰富户外用品上市公司的评价研究，提升企业的经营绩效，以我国户外用品6家上市公司2016年度财务数据为样本，采用熵权法从偿债能力、运营能力、盈利能力和成长能力四个纬度，对其进行了综合评价。结果显示：（1）公司经营结构中，偿债能力所占的权重最大，运营能力次之，盈利能力排名第三，成长能力所占权重最小；（2）6家公司中，4项一级指标的评分存在明显的两极分化现象。其中，三夫户外的偿债能力最强，牧高笛最弱；牧高笛的运营能力和盈利能力最突出，三夫户外的运营能力和嘉麟杰的盈利能力比较薄弱；中潜股份的成长能力最优秀，浙江永强成长能力最小；（3）综合实力强弱顺序依次为探路者、三夫户外、牧高笛、中潜股份、嘉麟杰、浙江永强。  相似文献
